In Georgia how long (on average) does it take for a foreclosure to take place after you stop paying?

Depends on the lender, not really specific to the state, except that in GA, lenders can move through the process more quickly

How aggressive the lender is in trying to clear bad loans, or whether they let them stew a while

Georgia has non-judicial foreclosure which means the lender doesn’t have to go to court to foreclose. Miss two payments (become 60 days behind) and you get 30 days to work out a payment plan or get caught up. Beyond that you have to pay the loan in full before the property is sold by the lender or it goes to the highest bidder.
